Nyamirama archdeaconry holds a mega wedding of 59 couples at St James Church of Uganda.
Nyamirama archdeaconry under the diocese of Kinkiizi has held a mega wedding ceremony of 59 couples.The function was held today Friday 31st July,2026 at St James parish in Nyamirama town council, Kanungu district.
In his sermon, Rev Canon Duncans Mugumya from the West Ankole diocese congratulated couples and challenged them to love each other.
According to Rev Duncans, the bible encourages a husband and wife to live as one person and therefore he called for cohesion in families.He also cautioned men against divorcing their wifes noting that the bible calls for everlasting love.
More over, Rev Duncans stressed that marriage is built on three pillars that is trust, praying and working hard.He therefore encouraged couples to trust each other, live a prayerful life and work hard to earn a living.

On behalf of the couples, Mr Safari Amon applauded Canon Edmard Turyatunga the main sposer and Rev James Kabagambe,the Archdeacon of Nyamirama for organising a free wedding encouraging many couples to participate.
Additionally, Canon Edmard Turyatunga, revealed that he decided to organise the mega wedding as a way of celebrating his 30th anniversary in marriage.He also extended his gratitude to other well wishers who supported the wedding and challenged other Christians to confirm their marriages.
Meanwhile, the Archdeacon of Nyamirama, Rev Canon James Kabagambe commended the Bishop of Kinkiizi, Rt Rev Dan Zoreka for his support and emphasized the need to work hard to improve livelihoods.
Couples exchanged wedding rings and were given certificate as one way of confirming their marriage.
